Forever!

Forever!

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.’ Isaiah 40:8

Forever is defined as things that last and continue endlessly, and literally means eternally. There is absolutely nothing in this world that will last forever except that which is spiritual. Scripture gives evidence to this truth-  “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.’ Isaiah 40:8.

To be perfectly honest…those of us who are saved by God’s grace and walk in faith, find our peace, grace, joy, solace and assurance in His word! “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.

In those weakest moments when things appear to overshadow us and we get to the breaking point…the Holy Spirit silently whispers words from the Lord  to still and comfort our hearts such as:

  • Abruisereed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. Isaiah 42:3
  • Godis our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Isaiah 46:1
  • Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.
  • Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, Iwill never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5.
  • TheLord is thy keeperthe Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. Psalm 121:5
  • TheLord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1
  • The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I haveloved theewith an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3.
  • Fear ye not, neither be afraid: havenot I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not Isaiah 44:8.

There are many more scriptues that we can call on at this moment- the thought that I am trying to convey is that our Great and Almighty God speaks to us – loves us- provides for us and keeps us through His word forever! “This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.” Pslam 119:50.

In fact the Word became flesh one day to carry out the will of the Father, so that you and I could have live forever! “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

So, whatever your need is today…or may be you just need to praise Him– for praise is comely of the upright! Pick up your sword . . . and let it speak to your heart, providing all that you need now and forever! Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm  119: 105.

Blessings and peace, stay in the Word-He will keep you forever!
