Let God Lead the Way!

Let God Lead the Way!

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

It is not easy to let go of things that we hold near and dear to our hearts or even beliefs that we have held on for years. Letting go can take several meanings; the unsaved person would find it to mean a free ticket to just live life any way the wind blows or follow the direction of whatever comes up next; but to the child of God, it has a whole different connotation, it means releasing our will into the sovereign will of God – by simply letting go and letting Him lead the way! “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

We all have dreams and plans for the future, not only for ourselves but for our loved ones as well. It is just natural to try and align our lives so that we accomplish those dreams and aspirations; this is not unreasonable, certainly it is wise to have a purpose in life, hopefully to leave footprints someday on the sands of time for others to follow….but it is imperative however, that we seek that purpose from God. “O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” Jeremiah 10:23.

God orchestrates all things by the divine counsel of His will and has a set purpose in this life for each of us; therefore, all our hopes, dreams, and even fears must be released into His loving and merciful hands- He knows what is best; recall what He told the prophet Jeremiah? “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5. God’s plan for our lives has already been set..we just need to follow where He leads!

There are times that we can unfortunately become our own worst enemy…we get in the way of numerous blessings and even forfeit the peace of God that is so readily ours, all because we think we know what’s best or have all the answers. Consider God’s questioning of Job… Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding” Job 38:4. The bottom-line-God is God!

So… watch out- a self-sufficient- need no help attitude is induced by the enemy of our souls… stroking the ego, which allows pride and selfishness to creep in and cloud the vision, stifling the heart and stunting spiritual growth. Always remember that humble is way. “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble” James 4:6.

Yes, we all have our own set plans, but God has the masterplan! Trust Him wholeheartedly and fervently pray to walk according to His divine purposes. “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:8.

My friends, Jesus is tenderly calling you to follow- so step aside right now and let Him lead the way! “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23.

God blessings and peace be with us all.
