Love

Love

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (KJV 1 John 4:8.)

As we embark on a new beginning and the hope of all that God has in store for the future, let us remember that it is love that brought us over into 2026. The Word of the Lord tells us that God is love. “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. (KJV 1 John 4:8.)

The clock struck twelve, and a new year began, bringing our ongoing challenges and cares with it. The same needs for healing and comfort remain, but I’m glad to remind you that the loving, gracious God who brought us safely here will provide for us. He is our hope and peace for every tomorrow; His unfailing love will keep us always.

It is often said that what this world needs is love, and this is true. However, we must make a clear distinction between the kind of love we truly need. The love that the world needs far exceeds any other emotion that we can humanly experience; love can be defined in four distinct forms as found in the scripture, the Greek words are (Eros, Storge, Philia, and Agape), and are exemplified by romantic love, familial love, brotherly love, and God’s divine love.

Agape love is beyond human comprehension and is outright immeasurable. It has the power to change hearts and lives! This magnificent love that is graciously given in the heart of all born-again believers gives us the desire to love one another, comfort the broken-hearted, and lift the downtrodden soul. It succors us and keeps us safe in His arms forever! “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.” (KJV 1John 4:11.)

God doesn’t leave us guessing about how to love; He gave us the greatest example: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (KJV John 3:16). Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, came, died, and rose again so that we may live—that’s love!

The love of God that flows through our hearts will keep us on our knees, teaching us how to survive and love others in this world. His love comforts us when we face challenges and circumstances that appear to totally devastate us, reminding us that nothing shall be impossible with God! My friends, we have this assurance: We are not alone, for He has faithfully promised! “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (KJV Hebrews 13:5b.)

Hold fast to the truth that His love has miraculous power to change any obstacle we face in this life. One day, there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth, where sickness, pain, and destruction have no part, and peace reigns eternal. As (KJV Revelation 21:4) states: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”  A change is coming!

As we enter 2026, let us all resolve to hold to God’s unchanging hands. With this blessed assurance, God will strengthen, keep, and faithfully guide us through this journey called life. Trust in His omnipotence, and rest in His unconditional love. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (KJV Romans 8:38-39.)
