God is Preparing Us for Something Greater!

God is Preparing Us for Something Greater!

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17.

We are never promised that this journey of life will be free of hardship; the sun does not always shine, and the rain falls on both the just and the unjust. The book of Job offers an astounding, powerful testimony to God’s providence and amazing grace in the lives of His children, reminding us that He prepares us for far more than natural eyes can see. As 2 Corinthians 4:18 states, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Just as Satan was allowed to touch Job in every way except his life, so too is he constantly working to defeat the beloved children of God in various ways. The scripture recounts, “And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.” Job 1:12.

God has a divine plan and has providence over all things. Nothing and no one can thwart God’s holy plan for our lives. The bible states that Job was an upright man, one who feared God and was very prosperous. God allowed him to endure great afflictions. He lost all of his children and possessions, but Job remained steadfast and waited on God. Job 13:15 states, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”

Job’s friends—even his wife—gave him up as a lost cause, but God was working in his favor. Job 42:12 says, “So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.” God gave Job twice as much as before; you can’t beat God’s giving! He will always reward the faithfulness of His children.

We may not always understand God’s leading, especially when the way seems dark, treacherous, or impossible. Remember, these trials and tribulations are only temporary—He is preparing us for something far greater than the eye can see! “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:17.

My friends. God’s amazing grace makes all the difference; it gives us the strength to endure whatever the toils of life may bring our way…  “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Praise be to God…Let us choose to stand in His power and not in the defeatist attitude of the enemy. “For we walk by faith, not by sight, ” 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Today, let us move forward, encouraged by God’s abiding peace, comfort, and love. Trust in His promises, knowing that He is with us always. May His blessings fill your heart with hope, strength, and unwavering faith as you journey forward in His grace.

God’s peace, strength, and grace be with you!
