Waging War!
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
What are you waging war against today? The Bible reminds us that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against unseen enemies: principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places.
This may seem daunting… but remember this: Satan is a formidable foe, yet he is a DEFEATED foe. Jesus paid it all on Calvary’s cross and now sits with all power at the right hand of the Father! “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15. Let me repeat that … He has ALL power!
Do you believe this? The word of the Lord tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4-5.
We are victorious and strengthened through God, meaning that we are empowered by the Holy Ghost. The weapons that we use are made effective by God’s power and authority. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57.
Are you or someone you know facing a stronghold induced by the enemy? Stay vigilant and remember: the old arch-enemy of our souls is the father of every lie, and his strongholds aim to influence our thoughts and actions. These falsehoods lead us away from the truth of God, taking us down a dark path farther from His will with each step in the wrong direction. It starts with a lie, then grows into a belief that enslaves the mind, body, and soul. Yet, my friends, we have victory in Jesus; every stronghold can be torn down by His power, and He has equipped us for the battle!
“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Ephesians 6:14-18.
So today, take action: suit up through the power of God and claim back whatever the enemy is trying to steal from you—be it your peace, your children, your spouse, your other family members, or your friends. Remember, the devil is a liar. Stand firm, because with God all things are possible. As it is written: “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.
We are already in the battle—the real question is, are you ready to win? If so, start your day before your feet touch the floor with prayer, asking God for His protective covering over your household, family, and friends, and put on the whole armor of God, suited and ready for the battles ahead! “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
May God’s blessings of peace, grace, and strength be with you all. Stay ready for the battle!
