Don’t Limit God!
“Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.” Psalm 78:41-42.
We all know that a limit is when we impose restrictions, boundaries, or confinement on something or someone. Unfortunately, there are times when we even set limits on God. And you’re asking…how is that possible? I point you to those times when your endurance seems unbearable, even knowing where God has brought you from. In those weakest moments, you ask, ” Can you really do this, God? This one is really big, of all the things that I could ever imagine…this one exceeds them all. If you’re honest, we’ve all been there…until reality snaps back in and the Holy Spirit lovingly reminds you that there is absolutely nothing impossible with God!
Psalm 78 gives us a clear example of God’s chosen nation of Israel, which once again reverted to unbelief. They were murmuring about whether God could truly provide for and deliver them from the wilderness. Even in the face of all the miraculous occurrences that they had already experienced, doubt remained. Hadn’t God just brought them out of bondage in Egypt, and when Pharaoh had their backs against the wall at the Red Sea, didn’t God make a way out of no way? Yet they chose to limit God’s power. “Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.” Psalm 78:41-42.
Are you facing something so great that you’re wondering if God will deliver you? Oh my friends… don’t limit God-He is the All Sufficient One-The Great Shepherd of the sheep and the Everlasting God with whom the Bible tells us in no variability. Just as He did for the Israelites, He answers our souls, reminding us who He is. “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.” Isaiah 40:28.
How do you answer today? Do you really know who God is? I am a living witness that He is the Alpha and Omega, and no matter how rough the road or deep the valley, He has always delivered me, just as He will deliver all of His beloved children, in His own way and time. Why? Because He is true and faithful, and it is impossible for His unconditional love for us to fail! “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.
So, even in the darkest of nights, the comforting words of Psalm 23:4 bring peace and comfort to our weary souls-reminding us that He will keep us safe, safe I say in His everlasting arms! “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.“
Blessings and peace be with you all, never forget that with God nothing shall be impossible!
