Ask, Seek, and Knock; He Will Answer!

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9.”

Sometimes we reach a crossroads and can’t see our way through. Those are the  crucial moments in our lives when we must humbly seek God in prayer. And that is when He lovingly opens our eyes to see that He has already prepared the way! All we need to do is ASK. “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9.”

Because God is omniscient and knows the concerns of our hearts, whether spiritual, mental, physical, or financial, He admonishes us to come boldly before His throne of grace and ask for whatever we need. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:26.

Our asking is deeply rooted in our faith. Scripture says faith gives substance to our hopes and makes the unseen visible: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1. God is always working behind the scenes—do you believe that today?

Let’s look at a great example of how God answers prayers and shows us things in the Spirit that we cannot see in the flesh. In 2 Kings chapter 6, we find the prophet Elisha praying for his servant’s eyes to be opened in what seemed like an impossible, terrifying situation.

In the servant’s mind, there was no possible way out of the dangerous circumstance; they were literally surrounded by a host of the king’s army! But let us hold fast to this truth: things aren’t always as they appear, my friends. What God did that day gives us a glimpse of His ability to answer prayers, provide spiritual visibility to the things our natural eyes cannot see, and deliver us from danger seen and unseen!

“And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17. God answered Elisha’s prayer and provided spiritual sight for the young man. They were not alone; God was in control!

And neither do we walk this journey of life alone—wherever we are, the presence of the Lord is with us. Like Elisha, we must come to God in confidence, believing that He will provide whatever we ask, no matter the need. In the words of Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

The key is to pray, “Not my will, but thy will be done.” When we ask according to His will, it is already done. “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.

God hears, He knows, and He faithfully answers. So we can rest assured that what He promises, He will fulfill, for the value of any promise is as good as the promiser. As Numbers 23:19 states: “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

God never fails; if he promised, He will deliver! So let us run to the foot of the cross and cast all our cares on Him! Isaiah 65:24 gives this assurance: “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

May God’s blessings and peace be with you all. Remember to ask, seek, and knock. If you call on Him, He will answer.
