The Faithfulness of God
“The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.” Psalm 121:5-7.
Faith, hope, and experiences through life’s trials and tribulations have taught us just how faithful our Great and Almighty God is. It is in the crucible of life, when we face challenges and circumstances that leave our souls in a state of unrest, that we must recall God’s unfailing faithfulness.
The Bible, consisting of sixty-six divinely inspired books, is the infallible word of God. It tells us of His unfailing love and promises that will carry us safely through this life’s journey. Yes, there are times our load gets heavy, and we often feel overwhelmed, but we can rest in His faithfulness. Habakkuk 3:19 gives these words of comfort: “The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.”
My friends, Jesus is our safe place. Psalm 121:5-7 states: “The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.”
When the cares of this life, or circumstances beyond our control, begin to wear us down… let us find consolation in knowing that we’re never alone. We can trust in God’s faithfulness.
Finally, when we find ourselves in that “place” where on trust can sustain us, let us remember that:
J-esus brings me here by His will in this strait place; in that will I rejoice.
E-ven here He will keep me “in His love” and give me “grace and glory”
S-urely, He will make the trial “a blessing.” Teaching me lessons He wants me to learn.
U-nder the trial I will be quiet; for in His good time He will bring me out. How and when, only He knows best.
S-o, then I am here by God’s appointment, in His keeping, under His training, for His time, that I may glorify Him, and comfort others. -Unknown.
My friends… there is purpose in our pain…Romans 8:28 reigns true now and forever. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
May God’s grace give us strength and keep us in perfect peace!
