God’s Word will not Return to Him Void

“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall “accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11

“The water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle, can be defined as ‘A continuous, endless and natural cycle of evaporation of water, subsequent condensation, and precipitation as rain and snow.” -sciencestruck.com. All living organisms must have water to survive, there is no wonder that God gives the prophet Isaiah these words to express that His Word is eternal, always succeeds and accomplishes His divine purpose. “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:” So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11.

Just as the water cycle is continuous and endless…it leaves heaven, comes to earth, and then returns to heaven to fall again; it nourishes and waters the earth and provides what we need to survive in numerous ways. God has sent His Word in living flesh in the personage of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whose death and resurrection has provided all men with the right to salvation and eternal life; but the Christian life does not end with the gift of salvation alone…it is a continual growth process, and just like the water cycle it nourishes and provides all that we need. God has given to us sixty-six books of Love, the Holy Bible… His Word. The Holy Spirit indwells every born-again believer to enlighten, comfort, teach and guide us in the Word. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16

We can rest assured that God’s Word will be accomplished. That should be a comfort and encouragement to our souls. If God said it… you can look for the promise, no matter how things appear, He will always come through… He is faithful and true “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.” Revelation 19:11

God’s divine plan for our lives is that of good and not evil; it gives us hope for an expectation of things far greater than we can ever imagine coming Jeremiah 29:11 state “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord… there are many times that we do not understand how He will accomplish His will; but His ways and thoughts are far from ours; God is sovereign, merciful and His love is everlasting. All things are working out for our good and His glory. His Word will always achieve what He pleases and will not return to Him void!

Praise God this morning that Lamentations 3:22-23 gives us this promise “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS and we are safe in His arms!

God’s blessings, peace and love be with you all.
