He is Faithful and Just

He is Faithful and Just

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.

Sin is any violation of God’s laws, whether it is by omission, defined as those things that we should do, but chose for some reason not to do, or the sin of commission the things that we should not do. Sin separates us from God. Romans 3:23 state “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

The fact is we inherited our sinful nature from our first parents Adam and Eve. The enemy of our souls is the father of all lies, and he desires to blind us in believing we are “okay” when we walk outside of God’s will. He lied and deceived Eve and is still trying to deceive God’s beloved children today. We must acknowledge that we do have the propensity to sin as long as we live in this world. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in.” 1 john 1:8.

God’s amazing grace has provided reconciliation of all sinners to Himself through the belief in His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. His atoning death on the cross cleared the slate so that whosoever believes in Him may have the right to eternal life. “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19.

Our belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ our Lord, provides our salvation now and forever… once saved, always saved. We are saved from the penalty of sin, which is spiritual death and total separation from God, but we fight against the presence of sin and its influence everyday of our lives. Satan and his demonic forces seek to disrupt our peace and destroy our testimony before God; he cunningly sneaks in doubts to make us second guess God and His ability to provide all that we need. We do not have to lie, cheat or any other sinful deterrent to acquire what God already has in store for us. There is nothing impossible with God.

As new creatures in Christ, we have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who guides and instructs us in the truth of God; He warns and provides correction from any known sin that creeps up in our lives. But we must stay attuned to His voice, pray without ceasing, read and meditate on His word; and we must apply what we have learned by following in obedience. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16.

But, if by chance we fall to a known sin, we can thank God for His faithfulness towards us that has cancelled sins power to enslave us indefinitely… if we acknowledge and truly repent of our sins, He will lovingly forgive us. 1 John 1:9 state “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9. We have the victory in Jesus and are cleansed by His precious blood. . . He is faithful and just!

God’s peace, love and grace be with us all!
