A Reservoir of Blessings

A Reservoir of Blessings

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning James 1:17

True love for another invokes the desire to give them things that are all good in nature. It is like a faithful and loving parent who desires to provide, protect, and raise their child with all that they can give.

Our Father is the source of all good things. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning James 1:17. God is love and has lovingly provided salvation for all men. Through His amazing grace we become new creatures in Christ and are the benefactors of His goodness. The Holy Spirit produces the fruit within us that can be freely flowed to others like a reservoir of His blessings.

The Spiritual fruit that we receive as stated in Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” These are the virtues that change our hearts to be more like Jesus Christ our Savior. God molds us into selfless and not self-seeking or selfish individuals. The love of God that dwells within us motivates us to give freely; it is because God is so good to us in all things both spiritual and physical that we express our love and thanksgiving through giving.

Many times, we think that the physical gifts that we see, and give are what matters most. The physical gifts are only a manifestation of the spiritual gifts that we possess. We give because we do love, have compassion and are longsuffering toward others. 2 Corinthians 9:7 tells us “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” When we generously extend the goodness that we have so graciously received from God above; our lives will continue to flourish for His glory… all that we have, and give is an extension of His amazing grace.

So, let us become reservoirs of blessings to all that we encounter, freely sharing the gifts that we have received from God. He will use us for His glory as we boldly step up to live, speak and act in a manner that shines His light and love to all men.

God blessings, peace, and favor to all!
