“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

As we embark upon a New Year, the faithfulness of our Great and Almighty God ushers in the comfort of hope, faith, and love. Every born-again believer can face the unknown because of His abiding presence, and unconditional love. It is His power that propels us to walk this journey of life with great expectations for brighter days ahead.

Faith in God is what sustains us when we have no human understanding of what is coming around the next corner in life! But, praise God, we do know who holds our future in this life and throughout all eternity.” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  Our faith gives spiritual visibility to that which is physically invisible…therefore we can rest in the knowledge that the Lord lovingly orders our footsteps.

Our Comforter and faithful guide, the Holy Spirit produces certain graces in our lives or fruit that will provide the strength and peace that we need to run this Christian race victoriously. “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” Let us take a closer look at these three spiritual blessings:

• Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord gives us salvation and reconciles us back to God.” For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” and that saving grace helps us to persevere and wait on His faithful promises.
• Romans 5:2 states “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” We can stand firm in His saving grace and favor; whatever the future brings we are safe in the arms of God; therefore, we walk not as those who have no hope…we walk confident in the joy of our Lord. “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and His righteousness!
• God is Love, He is Alpha and Omega… all things begin and end with Him. Our faith and hope are the guiding lights that keeps us anchored and focused on His ever-abiding presence and love “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16 And one day we will see our Savior face to face…faith and hope will no longer be needed, but love will last forever.

All of God’s beloved children travel this journey by faith, hope and love. We are sealed until the day of redemption by the Holy Ghost; He is the same faithful comforter, guide, and succorer that have brought us safe thus far, and will lead us safely through this New Year and forevermore!
