A Call to Worship

A Call to Worship

“Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4.

Psalm 100 gives us a strong invitation to come before the Lord’s presence and worship Him; whether it is in secret or with others, we are to give praise and thanksgiving to God; not because He need us or anything that we have or can do, but it is His will that we should serve Him and devote ourselves to His service in obedience. “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise be thankful unto him, and bless his name.” Psalm 100:4.

The Jewish people were not permitted to enter into the holy place in the temple, it denoted the very presence of God, and only the high priests went into minister and atone for the sins of the people. But the people were to be thankful for their place in the courts of God’s house, to which they were admitted and where they gave their attendance.

We can learn a great lesson and receive encouragement from their example in worshipping God, (1) to do it cheerfully and to be thankful for where we are, giving God all the glory for His divine providence, being obedient to exactly where He has placed us in the body of Christ to serve His purposes (2) to serve the Lord with gladness, because God is good!

My friends, when we shut out all the world and humbly come into the presence of the Lord…He fills us with unspeakable joy. I am not sure about you, but in those times that I am worshiping and praising God, it humbles me and forces me to be still and recognize that He is the only Potentate, the Great and Almighty God that we serve! “Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.” Nehemiah 9:6.

Mere words are unable to express the praise and glory due to Him alone; Hallelujah is the highest praise in every nation, and tongue…so, let us come into His presence to worship and give thanks, giving Him all the glory that only He deserves, exclaiming HALLELUJAH…for He is worthy to be praised now and forever!

God blessings of great joy and peace to all.
