Satisfaction Guaranteed

The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Psalm 22:16.

There are innumerous products that will advertise, satisfaction guaranteed. In other words, the product will yield the outcomes that are expected. It is the innate desire of the human mind to crave a perfect love, truth, and acceptance from others. My friends the only guarantee that we have to receive perfect love and true satisfaction is through Jesus Christ our Lord. “The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Psalm 22:16.”

While we constantly seek satisfaction in life, the question should be, is God satisfied with us? He is so loving and merciful, in that not only has He created us, but freely provides the means for us to be pleasing in His sight. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8.

Under the Old Covenant, God instituted a sacrificial system for His people to live in a right and pleasing relationship with Him. They offered sacrifices in the propitiation of their sins and also gave thanks for His goodness and mercy. Among those were the burnt offering or the blood sacrifice, which was in atonement for their sins, and then the peace-offering or free-will offering which was given by the worshiper as a way to say thank you for God’s unmerited generosity.

“Most sacrifices in the Old Testament system were not eaten by worshipers, but the peace offering was meant to be eaten—only a portion of the animal or grain brought to the altar was burned; the rest was given back to the worshiper and to the poor and hungry. The beautiful picture here is of God’s provision for His people, both physically and spiritually. His grace and goodness are present throughout the offerings. In the peace offering, God was providing what we need: a way to thank Him for His goodness and physical sustenance.” www.gotquestions.org/peace-offering.html

All of those sacrifices were only a symbol or picture of the true guaranteed satisfaction for our souls; under the New Covenant – Jeremiah 31:33 speaks of God’s plan for an everlasting covenant, “But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my  people.”

Our Lord and Savior’s ultimate sacrifice created favor with God and covered our wrongdoings forever. Jesus paid it all on Calvary’s Cross and rose on the third day morning with all power . . . and because of His shed blood we have can partake of His sweet communion, eating from the bread of heaven that feeds and replenishes our souls now and forever! “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Hebrews 12:24.

I am so satisfied with my Savior, He means the world to me are lyrics from a gospel hymn So, Satisfied by Luther Barnes. God’s grace is more than we can even imagine and yes, I am so satisfied for how He cares for me…but is He satisfied with the way that I live for Him- how do you answer?

Let us humbly seek God through prayer, staying in the Word and following where He leads. “And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:27.

God blessings of peace, love and everlasting mercy be with us all.
