The Blood

The Blood

“And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.” Romans 5:11

One of my favorite hymns is The Blood will Never Lose its Power. When I think about Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross to reconcile us back to God . . . it overwhelms my heart for all that He has done. The truth of God’s amazing grace refers me back to the Four Spiritual Laws:

  1. God loves us unconditionally -John 3:16 (KJV) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
  2. Man is sinful and separated from God -Romans 3:23 (KJV) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
  3. Jesus Christ is the only provision for man’s sin – John 14:6 (KJV) “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
  4. We must individually receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. – John 1:12 (KJV) “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

The fact is we inherited our sin nature from Adam’s disobedience to God. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” Romans 5:12. But God so loved the world that He provided for our deliverance through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When He rose on the third day morning His atoning blood made it right for us all. . . “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17

As the song writer states His shed blood reaches to the highest mountain and flows to the lowest valley, the blood that gives me strength from day to day will never lose its power. No matter where we maybe spiritually or physically Jesus can save and deliver us beyond our greatest imagination! Psalm 103:11-12 states “For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”

We can rest in the peace and assurance that He is the keeper, comforter and lover of our souls now and forever; nothing can ever separate us from His love. “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.

Regardless to what comes in this life, we can cling to Jesus…His blood will never lose its power!

The blood that Jesus shed for me,

way back on Calvary;

the blood that gives me strength

from day to day,

it will never lose its power.

May God blessings of amazing grace and His sustaining power keep us all!
