“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;” 2 Corinthians 4:8

Giving up is never an option for the child of God; things can become quite challenging, and it appears as though we just cannot hang on any longer; that is when our inner strength steps in from our Comforter. The Holy Spirit reminds us in the words of Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” What a blessing to know that He indwells every born-again believer, empowering us with divine strength, giving us the ability to cling to our hope and faith in God, regardless to our circumstances at any given time.

We cannot appreciate the view from the mountain top if we have never really been deep down in the valley; but what we do know is that our steps are ordered by the Lord, He is molding and making each of His beloved children according to His divine will…and at the present time we only have a partial view of what we will be when we meet Him face to face; but we can take solace in the words of Job 23:10  “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Even though circumstances in life may take us through uncharted waters, we can confidently say as the apostle Paul stated “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;” 2 Corinthians 4:8. Praise be to God, we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ our Lord!

My friends, God knows what is best for us and we can rest in His divine providence to give us a hope and a future; so, let us take heart, regardless to whether we are on the mountain top or down in the valley today, we can persevere and depend on His faithful promises. . . “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1.
