Have You Heard?

“And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.” Luke 18:43.

A certain beggar who set on the wayside of the road to Jericho, suddenly heard a great commotion; when he asked others of this occurrence, they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by, he immediately cried out to Jesus, saying Thou Son of David have mercy on me!

The surrounding crowd rebuked him, but he fervently cried out even the more; the scripture tells us that when Jesus heard the beggars’ cry, He had him brought over; Jesus asked him what he desired and he answered: Lord, that I may receive my sight; and Jesus immediately answered the poor man’s plea! “And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.” Luke 18:42-43.

What a wonderful testimony to the power and compassion of our Lord and the faith of the man in Jesus to provide what he needed. Note that when the beggar heard of Jesus passing by, that he began to cry out for Him to have mercy on him. It is evident from his actions and pleas for help that he had heard of Jesus power to heal and deliver; so much so, that he faithfully believe that this same Jesus was able to have mercy and restore his sight.  Hebrews 11:6 reminds us “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Have you heard and believe that He is able to provide all that you need? I am a living witness that nobody can do you like Jesus!

Just like the poor blind beggar, we cannot allow the influences of others to suppress our prayers; the prayer of faith will never go out in vain. God hears our cries “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24. Jesus answered the man’s prayers and healed him that day. He is the same ever merciful and compassion Lord, who hears our prayers today…what is that you need at this very moment…the saints of old would say, call Him up and tell what you need; my friends I am here to tell you that He is closer than the very air that we breathe. . . He is able to heal and deliver!

My friends, we can live a long and successful life in this world without physical sight; but spiritual sight can only be obtained through the power of God… that day on the wayside of the road, the man received both spiritual and physical sight. God is faithful and gives us far more than we can see with the natural eye…He in an amazing God!’ “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20.

In grateful response the man immediately followed Jesus, glorifying God for his miraculous healing. Are you on the wayside of life today…have you heard about my Jesus? You can depend on Jesus…just call on Him…He is able to deliver and provide all that you need!

The Gwma Mass Choir sings it so profoundly… again, I ask you have anybody heard about my Jesus…have you tried Him in the midnight hour- He is the greatest friend of all!

You can call Him everyday,

even when you can’t find your way.

He’ll be there to supply your needs,

He’s the only true friend indeed;

He’s the greatest friend of all, have you heard?

God blessings of peace, strength and amazing grace be with us all!
