Hope Thou in God

Hope Thou in God

“Why are thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.” Psalm 42:11.

Life’s circumstances sometimes just simply get us down; but we don’t have to stay in that process of thought for very long; if we’re a child of the One true and living God, our hope, joy and peace lie in His powerful hands! Revelations 1:8 state “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, which was and which is to come, the Almighty.” God is … there are no words that can even possibly describe the totality of our God; He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is our Sovereign Lord; all things begin and end in Him…He is from everlasting to everlasting, and there is absolutely nothing impossible with God!

So, if there are cares and concerns of this life disquieting your heart and soul, remember that God is in total control. He has promised to guide us with His counsel now and forever. Psalm 32:8 states “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”

The question that you must answer is do you truly believe that He is sovereign? If your answer is yes, then pray for the strength to let go of the anxieties, fears, and unrest that take your focus off of God and His power to give you healing and peace… Isaiah 41:10 states Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Our God is Almighty, He can handle the concerns and needs of every last one of His beloved children.

If you have been saved by the amazing grace of God and are counted as His beloved child…then continue to walk by faith… clinging to His unfailing promises. We gain the strength and sinew to preserve through life’s trials and tribulations by holding on to His unchanging hands, applying His word, and being obedient to where He leads.

Meditation and prayer must be our constant companions… just a little talk with Jesus always makes it right …yes, dark clouds will rise, and fierce winds will vehemently blow, and tears will fall, but our God of hope, joy and peace, comforts, sustains and succors us through it all…He is the anchor of our souls!

So, remain steadfast in faith and take courage… and when the walls appear to literally close in on you, as they do sometimes, remember the words of David in Psalm 42:11 “Why are thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

May God’s love, sweet peace, and sustaining power be with us all!
