More Precious than Gold

More Precious than Gold

“More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:10.

How do you apply the scriptures when you are down in the thick of the battle, seeking a way out…looking for way to turn or how to give it all you’ve got…and suddenly, a small voice whispers assurance, comfort, direction, and hope… and you remember that the Word of God is more precious than gold! “More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:10.

Wherever life leads…we can be confident in the faithful promises of God’s Word. Psalm 119:105 state “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” It has the power to heal, deliver and lead us by the light of God’s amazing grace in every situation we face; no matter how rough the road…He makes all the crooked ways straight!

Philippians 4:13 readily comes to mind in the midst of tough times, fear, feelings of inadequacy, and those experiences in life that seem out right unconquerable; but these things are all dispelled in the knowledge that there is nothing impossible with God; we can do all things through the power of His grace, and praise God, we have the victory in Jesus!

Just remember, that trouble don’t last always, flip back a few books, and read Joshua 1:9-Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” We are commanded to be strong and courageous because the Lord will never leave us or forsake us…He will keep us every step of the way.

God’s word is also a protective weapon for all of His beloved children… Ephesians 6:17 admonishes to take up the sword of the Spirit “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” That old devil the arch enemy of our souls, subtly whispers in our ears; that our witness is being marred and of non-effect for up building of God’s kingdom; his objective is to make us to feel defeated, or cowardice for not following the status quo; but this is far from the truth and to that, we must stand on the word… calling him out as the liar that he is and has always been from the beginning of time, let us stand strong knowing that we are safe in the arms of Almighty God!

So, I admonish you, stop and take time to search the scriptures, therein you will find sixty-six books of the greatest love story ever told…in it are treasures far greater than precious gold –they provide the instructions for life now and for ever! “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2 Timothy 3:16.

God’s blessings of peace and grace be with us all!
