Mastering Your Mindset

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8

Our thoughts and mindset can either guide us into a constant state of peace or unrest. . . each day we choose what we will allow to enter our mental space; good thoughts or bad, whether from without or within…subliminal mental messages control our attitudes, actions, and outlook on life.

The old cliché’ an idle mind is the devils’ workshop is quite true. Where do we so often allow our minds to go in the run of any given day…to the problems, upsets, and cares that concern us most…or to a secret place where we can come boldly before the throne of grace, seeking wisdom, knowledge, and understanding from the Lord? Matthew 11:28 remind us of these comforting words of our Lord “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Satan is the arch enemy of our souls and his objective to make us feel defeated, insecure, unraveled, and unloved; but the power that lives within every beloved child of God gives us access to His sweet peace! “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7.

Keeping a peaceful and positive mindset is not an easy feat; it takes being sober-minded-being in control . . . ever searching for the truth to align our thoughts and actions in the word of God. The apostle Paul admonishes us with these words “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any, think on these things.” Philippians 4:8.

My dear friends… take control of what and who you allow to influence your mindset; we can find peace of heart and mind in the faithful study of God’s word, learning how to listen more than we speak, and always remaining fervent in prayer. Romans 12:2 state “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

May the love of God and His amazing grace keep us all in perfect peace.
