God’s Name

God’s Name

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8.

God is…that speaks for itself; He is self-existent. Genesis 1:1 state, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” In the beginning He was there as Creator to form the heavens and the earth and gives us His full name in Revelation I:8 states “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” He is our past, present, and future, The Lord, God, Almighty- the One true and living God!

Human logic is an unable to totally understand or even try to explain the existence of God. Hebrews 11:3 states “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” It is by faith, not logical or rational summations that we believe that God is and has divine providence over all things. However, man in our feeble knowledge think that we can explain God; how can the creature explain the Creator?

It has to be established in the heart through humble submission that God is…Isaiah 64:8 “But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” When Moses asked God who he should tell the children of Israel sent him; God answers “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” Exodus 3:14 God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent…He is the Great I AM!

God’s love letter to humanity, the Bible, has sixty-six books the most astonishing accounts known to man! The word of God teaches us that He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. How do you ask, can three be one? 1 John 5:7 states, “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” God said it, and that settles it!

We serve one God who has lovingly manifested Himself to us in three distinct personages: Our Father which is our present, Who provides all things for us; keeps and sustains us because He is our total existence. . . the very air that we breathe!

God took on a body and became flesh, as the only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ- our past, which was the One who atoned for our sins and reconciled us back to God and is the first fruit of the resurrection and because He rose one third day morning from the dead and He lives, so will we!  And certainly, the last- El Shaddai- the Holy Ghost, our Comforter, Guide, and Keeper of our souls throughout all ages, referenced as which is to come our future and our Omega, the ending Who will be with us forever- our omnipotent God-Hallelujah!

We may not be able to logically explain the existence of God…but all creation does- Romans 1:20 states “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Creation itself gives evidence of our Great and Almighty God…the song writer so beautiful expresses the greatness of God in the lyrics to How Great Thou Art:

O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder

Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee

How great Thou art, how great Thou art

My friends, God is…and I know that He lives…He is the Lord, God, Almighty, our Savior, our God, and the Creator of all things…and the best part about it… He is the Lover of our souls. Praise be to God He is the “One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” Ephesians 4:6.

Let us bow down and worship, honor and adore Him in all that we do now and forever!
