Just Do It!

Just Do It!

“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5.

There are times when a dilemma arises at the most inopportune time, and those are the times that we are force to run to the foot of the cross and seek an answer from the Lord; sometimes He answers right away, sometimes He delays…but He always answers. Many times, The Holy Spirit leads us to do something in the meantime…the question is do we always listen and obey- and will we do it?

Jesus’ first miracle was done at a Jewish Wedding Feast in Cana of Galilee. His mother and the disciples were also present. As God would have it for His purposes, the wine for the feast ran out…His mother went straight to Him with the dilemma. Note that He answered her with what would appear to be a negative answer… “Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.” John 2:4.

Jesus was speaking of His eternal purpose and mission here on earth…but Mary’s reaction showed that she understood the power of her son; her attention immediately turned to the servants, John 2:5 state “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5.

Mary was not caught up trying to decipher the spiritual connotation of His answer, but knowing her son, and who He is…she knew He had the miraculous power to rectify the situation in whatever way He would choose to do it.  “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.

When we have an intimate relationship with God…we too may not know what He will do to fix the circumstances we face in life, but we know by experience, that He will come through in His own time and in His own way; we can faithfully place our dependance on Jesus to act on our behalf now and forever. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19.

My friends, as you wait for your prayers to be answered, has the Holy Spirit led you in something specific to do? Then, as Mary told Jesus’ servants, “whatsoever, he said unto you, do it.”

God blessings of peace, protection and unspeakable joy be with us all.
