Nevertheless at Thy Word!

Nevertheless at Thy Word!

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5.

Have you ever been told to do something that you could not understand- a reluctant feeling to stay clear and go the opposite direction is usually our first reaction…but, when God commands us to follow His leading whether we fully comprehend it or not…we can rest assured that He’s setting us up for a blessing!

The disciples had been on the sea all night and had not caught any fish. However, Jesus commanded that they continue, Simon Peters reaction was one of radical faith. “And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” Luke 5:5. Note Simon Peter said…Master, in other words-you are in charge, and regardless of what things look like… at your word I will obey!

Are we able to display such strong faith and follow where the Master leads? That night when the disciples obeyed the word of the Lord, they received a blessing far greater than they could ever imagine; And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” Luke 5:6. My friends….you cannot beat God’s giving!

Our obedience to the will of God brings blessings every time. It is not ours to understand or even try to rationalize the reasoning for God’s commands. He is our sovereign Lord and guides us in the way that we should go. All that we really need to do is say like Simon Peter – “nevertheless at thy word…”

Blessings come in different forms, whether they be spiritual or physical manifestations of God goodness; it is a fact that the amazing grace of God will shine through in all that we do when we obey His will. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.” Psalm 119:2-3.

What have God commanded you to do today-what is your “nevertheless” – like the disciples does things appear to be outright impossible to endure or come to fruition… don’t worry about the circumstance- remember we walk by faith and not by sight…the question is are you ready for your blessing–then obey God and leave the consequences to Him!

God richest blessings to all.
