Are You Twixt and In-Between?

Are You Twixt and In-Between?

“In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.” Proverbs 3:6.

I would often hear my parents use the phrase twixt and in-between. What in the world did that mean I would think; betwixt is actually and old English term that means between two things. There are certainly times of indecisiveness, that we find ourselves twixt and in-between, but when we seek God’s will, we can rest assured that He will direct our paths!“In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.” Proverbs 3:6.

When it comes to matters of the soul Satan seeks to hit us right where it hurts the most; especially in the decisions we must make concerning those that we hold near and dear to our hearts.  His strategic plan is to isolate us from God, others that truly love us, and anyone that has our best interest at heart. However, we must never fall for the lies that he seeks to implant in our minds and to shade our hearts from God’s truth and purpose for us.

Let us stay on guard, Satan’s greatest tactic is to attack our minds and emotions, confusing us and making us feel that we have lost our way; no child of God is exempt from his aggressive onslaughts to take us out completely; but that is why the apostle Paul admonished us to “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11.

In making tough decisions, we must stand on God’s truth; He has provided sixty-six books of the greatest love story ever written to inspire, comfort, correct and guide us in the way that we should go, the Bible… our instructions for life; so let us remember, when we are stuck between a rock and a hard place…or twixt and in-between decisions and have done all that we possibly can, let us run to the foot of the cross, standing on the promises of Christ our Savior…He alone is faithful and true; and Satan and all his demonic forces are no match for our omnipotent and Almighty God! “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31.

Here are a few verses that can help us to cling to God’s unchanging and loving hands:

Jeremiah 29:11“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” God has a divine plan for our lives regardless to what the circumstances may appear to be. His plans are for the good of all those that love Him; and He will fulfill His faithful promises forever…Praise God, He orders our steps into righteousness.

Proverbs 3:6“In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.”  God is omniscient and knows what’s best for us, it is vital to remember that our thoughts are not His thoughts; we must follow the Holy Spirit, our constant companion, keeper and faithful guide on this journey called life; genuine faith perseveres, but emotional decisions do not– when we humbly seek His will He will lead us in the right path.

Psalm 23:1“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” We can rest in the fact that we have the divine Shepherd who provides all that we need, protects us from all hurt and danger, and keeps us in perfect peace; God’s goodness and mercy will always follow and sustain His beloved children.

Matthew 12:20“A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.” Resolve to stay strong… even in areas of indecisiveness our at our weakest, God will not break us, but instead strengthen us when we need Him the most. We will never be ashamed of the hope that we have in Him!

Ephesians 3:20 – “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” God can to do exceeding and abundantly more than we can imagine. He knows our hopes, desires, and dreams. We can trust Him, because He is faithful!

My friends stay the course, holding to God’s unchanging hands; and when the fiery darts of the enemy are thrown our way… may God give us all the strength to choose the path less traveled; the one that leads to His righteousness. Remember that God loves us and will never leave us twixt and in-between…His word is pure, and His children know His voice.

Blessing of peace and love, follow the Lord and everything will be alright!
