God is Our True Source!

God is Our True Source!

“But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.” 1 Chronicles 29:14.

It is a great feeling to give out of the overflowing abundance that we ourselves have received from the goodness of the Lord; with a thankful heart King David purposed to start the work of building the temple of God; he recognized and extolled God for the many blessings, he and the people had received and were willing to freely offer their abundance back to God, the true source of all that they possessed. “But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.” 1 Chronicles 29:14.

Everything belongs to God. It is by His gracious hand that we also have health, wealth, and all that we have acquired. Therefore, it is with grateful hearts that we should fall to our knees and give God the glory every single day…regardless to what is going on in our lives…we are blessed above millions in this world. In 1 Chronicles 29:11 note how David extols God out of a pure heart “Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.

God is the source of all things and to Him belongs the glory; scripture brings it close to home and reminds us to keep it all in prospective “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” 1 Timothy 1:6. Just as a newborn baby, we came into the world with absolutely nothing, and regardless to what we accumulate in wealth, goods, or even mental acuity, when we leave this world it will all be left right here for someone else to be the benefactor.

Our minds and hearts should be set on the true treasures of this world and being content with living a godly life, enriched with God’s divine presence, love, grace, mercy, and innumerous blessings; learning how to render it all back to Him, who graciously provides and gives us all that we need and more; He is the One “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:5.

My friends, let us purpose to walk in thankfulness; freely releasing all that we have in gifts, talents, and time back to the One and only true source, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, our sovereign Lord and Almighty God! “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17.

God blessings and amazing love be with us all.
