Ask, Seek and Knock

Ask, Seek and Knock

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9.

There are certainly times when we come to a crossroad and just can’t see our way through, those are the crucial moments in our lives when we must seek God in prayer, He will lovingly open our eyes to see that He already has the way prepared! Scripture admonishes us to ask, seek, and knock. “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9.”

God is omniscient and knows the concerns of our hearts; whether it is a spiritual, mental, physical, or financial need, He admonishes us to come boldly before His throne of grace- asking for whatever we need- “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:26.

The foundation that lead us to ask must be grounded in faith– scripture tells us that faith provides the substance of the things that we hope for; it brings things which are unseen into visibility– “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrew 11:1. God is always working behind the scenes…do you believe that today?

Let’s take a look at a great example of how God answers prayers and show us things in the spirit that we cannot see in the flesh… in 2 Kings chapter 6 we find the prophet Elisha praying for his servants’ eyes to be open. It was obvious in the servants mind that it was no possible way out of the current circumstance, they were surrounded by a host of the king’s army, but things aren’t always as they appear my friends…what God did that day gives us a glimpse at His ability to (1) answer prayers and (2)  provide spiritual visibilty to things that are impossible for our natural eyes to see. “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.:” 2 Kings 6:17. God answered the prayers of Elisha and provided spiritual sight for the young man.. they were not alone…God was in control!

An neither are we…when we come before God, we must believe that He can and will provide all that we ask-whatever the need. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.

The key is to pray, not my will, by thy will be done…then it is a given “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.

My friends, whatever you are seeking God in prayer for – remember that He is faithful to His word; rest assured that what He promises, He will fulfill; the value of any promise is as good as the promiser, Numbers 23:19 states “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” God never fails, He makes good on every single promise! Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3.

God blessings and peace to all-ask, seek, and knock. . . if you call-He will answer!
