Lead Me, oh Lord!

Lead Me, oh Lord!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

Have you ever  tried to figure things out and then recognized that you had it all wrong,  you were so sure you had it right; but in reality you did not have all the pieces to the puzzle! I am not sure about you, but I have to constantly rewind the thoughts of my mind and carefully focus on the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Word of God always guides us in what we should do or say at any given moment. Proverbs 3:5 states “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

In all our desires and undertakings concerning life, we must place our trust in God’s wisdom. It is in our obedience to release our cares and concerns on the Lord, that we  learn to trust in His omniscience and not rely own our thoughts and feelings…it has been said that genuine faith perseveres, but  emotional decision do not. . . God promises to guide us with His divine counsel through this journey called life. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” Wisdom comes from God above-trust Him!

When the Israelites went into captivity in Babylon you can imagine the thoughts and input coming from all sources of gloom and doom; but God sent word by the prophet Jeremiah that they should guard their minds “For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.” Jeremiah 29:8” Seventy years being in captivity was quite daunting…but God already knew the plans He had to prosper and give His children a hope that far exceeded their greatest imaginations. We can fully rely on God!

We serve the same God today, “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” Malachi 3:6. We must also guard our minds  from anixiety, doubt and fear induced  by the enemy and rest in the assurance the God sees and knows the way that we should go…His way is always best. “Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.” Proverbs 19:20.

So, let us  humble ourselves before the Lord, praying for  His wisdom to make decisions or understand the circumstances that we face…  carefully remembering the words of James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”  As the gospel song states: Lead me, oh Lord, lead me!

Lead me, guide me along the way;
For if You lead me, I cannot stray;
Lord, let me walk each day with Thee.
Lead me, O Lord, lead me.

God blessing of peace and love be with us all.
