A Child’s Faith

A Child’s Faith

And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3.

There are different types of faith that we can exhibit, vain faith, dead faith, fragile faith, little faith, weak faith and yes . . . strong faith. But, Jesus sets the bar for the type of faith that all men must have in order to receive eternal life…we must come to Him as a little child. And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3.

A baby instinctually cries when in need… the cry signals that I am hungry, wet, need holding, hurt or whatever the case maybe… but there  is a natural ability to trust that the need will be met.  They continue to grow and faithfully follow, trust, and believe their parents; and rightfully so, they expect their parents to love, protect and care for them.. because in their little minds the parent can do absolutely everything!

The question then, is what type of faith do we hold near and dear in our hearts when we fall before the Throne of Grace and cry out to God – is it one that believes that there is absolutely nothing impossible with God…just like that little child who innocently believes and trust in his/her parent to just provide what is needed?  “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37.

God loves us unconditionally my friends….and He is our Heavenly Father… so, are you searching for the answer to the cares and concerns of your heart; then rest in the comfort and peace that our Father…will lovingly provide all that you need. David wrote in the 23rd Psalm that “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” He was expressing satisfaction and peace in God, the Good Shepherd who loves us all unconditionally and the only faithful keeper of our  very souls.

Meditate on these words…“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. He knows exactly what you need, what you desire, where you are, and where He’s leading you.

This is truth….the Lord is faithful, proven, and true! “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;” Deuteronomy 7:9.

So, just have faith as that little child…and ask for all that you need. The old spiritual hymn goes… Ask the Savior to help you, comfort, strengthen, and keep you…Jesus is willing to aide you, He will carry you through!

God blessings of peace, love, and mercy be with us all.
