A Praying Mother

A Praying Mother

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.

Today is Mother’s Day all around the world. We come together to celebrate and show love and appreciation for our mothers; and for those of us whose mothers are now with the Lord, we have fond memories and praise God for the time we were given with them…even in the midst of a shed tear every now and then, we see the blessing of God given to us in a godly mother who prayed for, nurtured, loved and  guided us in the fear of the Lord.

As a mother, I can only think of my heart’s desire in all things for my son…it is a prayer that has been humbly submitted before God since the moment of his conception… “Lord, allow me to raise my child in the fear and the knowledge of you, according to your will, and bless Him with your peace, favor, and love.”

My friends, God is allowing me to see the fruit of His goodness being produced in the life of my son, my daughter in love and even in their own children…God is faithful and true and He hears the sincere and heartfelt prayers of His children “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.”

When you are a praying mother…the road is certainly not an easy one to travel…but you must ask yourself the hard questions…what type of fruit am I bearing- do I desire that my children fear and love the Lord…humble themselves in prayer-what does my life choices look like- even when I mess up, is God evident in all that I do- do I pray with and for my children? Children learn what they live. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6.

The word admonishes us that a tree is known by the fruit that it bears- “Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.” Matthew 12:33.

The blessings is that God equips those whom He calls…motherhood is a divine calling from God…and whoever this message touches today…know that if you are a child of the One true and living God, you have all that you need to raise your children or even those who have been placed in your care in the fear and knowledge of God dwelling within- “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.

This holy fruit is what will mold and make our children into faithful, loving women and men of God, meet for His use and glory- never forget you have been called by God-entrusted with His precious jewels; you are molders of hearts and minds- let Christ dwell in you richly and watch how the fruit of the Spirit flourishes in your children for the goodness of God!

God blessings and Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers!
