A Reservoir of Blessings

A Reservoir of Blessings

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning James 1:17

I am feeling extremely blessed, God has so graciously allowed me to see sixty-four years of life today- and to that I say, “To God be all the glory for the things that He has done!” and may He use all that I am to be a reservoir of His blessings!

A reservoir can be defined as a source or supply of something, as in a large natural or artificial lake used as a source of water supply. Our Heavenly Father is the source of all good things. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17.

Those of us who believe on the Son of God…our Lord, Jesus Christ, become reservoirs of His innumerable blessings. Someone said, we are blessed to be a blessing, as new creatures in Christ, when we surrender our will to His, all of our talents, treasures, and time are conduits of His love and goodness to others.

We are constantly growing more Christlike through the power of the Holy Ghost… “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” These are the virtues that change our hearts to be pliable in our Master’s hands, eager to serve and give what He has so generously given to us.

My friends, it is because God is so good to us in all things both spiritual and physical that we express our love and thanksgiving through giving selflessly. “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” 2 Corinthians 9:8.

Many times, we think that the physical gifts that are tangible and easily seen, are what matters most; but in actuality, the physical gifts are only a manifestation of the countless spiritual gifts that we possess from above.

We give because we love, have compassion and are longsuffering toward others. 2 Corinthians 9:7 tells us “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” We are recipients of God’s love, compassion and mercy; all that we have, and give are an extension of His amazing grace towards us!

So, let us become reservoirs of blessings to all those that we encounter along our way, freely sharing the gifts that we have so generously received; God will use us for His glory . . . may we remember to count our blessings one by one and share what the LORD has faithfully done!

God blessings, peace, and favor to all!
