Ask, Seek, and Knock
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9.
There are certainly times when we at a crossroad and have no earthly understanding of which way to go; seeking God in prayer should be our first recourse, He will lovingly provide all that we need. Scripture admonishes us to ask, seek, and knock. “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Luke 11:9.”
God is omniscient and knows the concerns of our hearts; whether it is a spiritual, mental, physical, or financial need, He admonishes us to come boldly before His throne of grace- asking for whatever we need- “Give us this day, our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11.
This takes faith in God- scripture tells us that faith provides the substance of the things that we hope for; it brings things which are unseen into visibility– “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrew 11:1.
The account of the prophet Elisha praying for his servants’ eyes to be open when they were surrounded by a host of the king’s army, gives us a glimpse at God’s ability to provide the spiritual reality to things impossible for our natural eyes to see. “And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.:” 2 Kings 6:17.
When we come before God, we must believe that He can and will provide all that we ask-whatever the need. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.
The key is to pray, not my will, by thy will be done…then it is a given “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” 1 John 5:14-15.
My friends, God knows our every need-and He has faithfully promised to provide for all that we need; know this, what He promises, He will fulfill; the value of any promise is as good as the promiser, Numbers 23:19 state “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” God never fails, He makes good on every promise!
God blessings and peace to all-ask, seek, and knock. . . He will answer!
