Done it Unto Me

Done it Unto Me

“And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40.

I feel quite confident to say that every born-again believer can tell anyone the greatest two commandments found in Word of God. It may not be verbatim, but it is instilled in the heart. The first references our love for God and the second our love for our fellowman. Applying these two commandments in our lives is another matter. How we treat our neighbor has a direct relationship in how we honor, reverence and worship God. Matthew 25: 40 state “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

Our service to others has eternal consequences… Matthew chapter twenty-five gives several parables of the saved opposed to the unsaved and it ends with the account of the sheep and the goats, The King of Glory will separate those who genuinely love Him and those who do not. “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” Matthew 25:33.

A question arose in the parable from those who were set on the King’s right hand as to when the things they were being rewarded for actually took place “Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?” The next verse gives the answer “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Matthew 25:40. Unfortunately, those who neglected to administer unto the least of God’s people…will receive eternal damnation.

It is often said that when we go into Church, we come together to worship the Lord, but when we leave out It is to serve. All that we have learned and heard inside, should be applied on the outside; our talk must align with our walk in the Word of God. If we praise God and sing to the top of our voices and yet overlook the needs and concerns of others…we are missing the mark. The cost of discipleship is a selfless service. Jesus is our greatest example “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.” John 13:14-15.

What will you do today to show your love for God and serve others? Be a blessing and allow His amazing grace to extend from you to another. God blesses us to be a blessing…let us seriously meditate on these words today, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

God blessings, strength, and peace be with us all.
