Dwelling Richly in my Heart

Dwelling Richly in my Heart

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Christ lives in the heart of every born-again believer…and by faith we experience His love and amazing grace when we allow Him to have free reign of our thoughts and actions. The apostle Paul in Colossians 3:16 uses the terminology dwell in, which is translated in Greek as enoikeó which denotes the act of inhabiting and delving deep down inside.

To allow Christ to dwell in us richly… is in an elaborate, generous, or plentiful way: the surrendering of our wills to His; enjoying the relationship with Him as a trusting child does with a loving parent; this oneness with Him brings us joy and peace beyond comprehension. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Colossians 3:16.

Surrendering our all to God should be our primary focus, here is just a few things that will be evident in our lives when we let go and let God:

  • Having a yielded heart and spirit… one that is open and ready to accept His leading.
  • Striving to obey Him unconditionally – walking circumspectly…knowing that half obedience to the Lord is actually disobedience.
  • Endeavoring to keep the faith… in tuned to our spiritual insight; recognizing that God knows what is best for us.
  • Always seeking to do what honors Him the most. – letting go and allowing His light to shine through us for His glory.
  • Faithful to the study of His word…seeking to grow day by day, being constantly filled with the Spirit, conduits of His love and grace to others for His glory.
  • And never ceasing to give Him praise, honor and glory for His amazing grace – living with thankful hearts for all that He has done and will do from now throughout eternity.

Are you willing to let Christ dwell richly in your heart today? Let go and surrender your will to His and watch how His amazing grace, peace, love, and strength grow you. Trust the Lord today, He is faithful and true to His promises; strength to walk this journey of life is found only in Him.

And as Paul prayed for the saints in Ephesus, so may it be with you “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

God’s mercy and grace be with you always.
