Focusing on God

Focusing on God

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17

The more that we grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; the more that we learn this journey of life is not all about us…the world does not revolve around “me” or what “I” want. The love of God that lives within the life of the born-again believer desires to give what we have been so graciously given from our Creator. It is called grace for grace.

Grace is God’s love in action; He gave so that we could have eternal life. So, first, to God we give all the glory for the things that He hath done. When He lives within, and we allow Him to have full control of our lives we seek to please Him in all that we do. So, today let us focus on God.

Let us allow Him to guide every aspect of our thoughts, actions, and words; this will help make our day more peaceful, fulfilling, and meaningful. We need to watch out for traps that block our mental thought processes. Our thoughts need to stay positive, propelling us to act and speak with positive intentions towards others and even ourselves. Stay in the Word!

In every situation that we encounter today, may God guide our words before we began to speak, He alone knows our hearts and the intent of others and will guide us in the way to uplift and encourage one another. In general, be kind, caring, understanding, and forgiving to others. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17

“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” Psalms 100:3. We have been created for His good purposes, therefore, to live a blessed life we must meditate and seek Him above all things. The Holy Spirit guides every born-again believer in the way to live a holy and righteous life before Him and our fellowman.

The apostle Paul so graciously wrote these words “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14. Paul’s intent is crossing a finish line and obtaining the prize; every thought, purpose, and the divine counsel of God all aim to the mark. . . Jesus!

So, let us run this race to obtain the same prize and focus on Him alone. . .  our Lord God Almighty!

Blessing, peace, and the love of God keep you all.
