Genuine Love

Genuine Love

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:” 1 Peter 1:22.

The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and Guide in the truth; there is no furtherance of the gospel message without the Holy Spirit. He lives within every born-again believer to empower us to love one another and seek the truth. “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:” 1 Peter 1:22.

Obedience to the truth guides us to love the brethren with unfeigned or genuine love, it is constant and pure; and gives us the ability to love freely and without hypocrisy. The Holy Spirit fills and produces fruit within every born-again believer “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Love is the crowning grace of all.

When we possess these virtues the work of Christ shines through us and teaches us how-to live-in peace with all men. The compassion and love that we have motivates us to give to others physically, mentally, spiritually, and financially according to the blessings that God bestows in our lives.

Koinonia is the Greek translation that refers to being in communion or fellowship, joint participation and sharing with one another. It identifies the fellowship and unity that exist within the Body of Christ; The old familiar hymn states: Blest be the tie that binds. The oneness that we share when on one accord supersedes our affiliations of race, social or economic status, we all come level at the foot of the cross.

Praise God that we can uplift and give the fervent love that works in and through us to others…we are one in the Spirit, bonded together by God’s amazing grace through Jesus Christ our Lord:

Blessed be the tie that binds

Our hearts in Christian love;

The fellowship of kindred minds

Is like that to that above.

My friends, let us love with a pure heart that draws us closer and motivates us to stand and support one another in the times of our greatest need; our strength, comfort, and compassion flows freely from the love of God and unifies us as His beloved children.

Blessings and peace be yours this day and always.
