Have You Heard?

Have You Heard?

“And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.” Luke 18:36.

A certain blind man sat at the wayside on the road to Jericho; suddenly, he heard a great commotion. Luke 18:36 states, “And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.” he was told that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He immediately cried out to Jesus, saying Thou Son of David, have mercy on me! But the crowds rebuked him, but his cries only grew stronger!

Jesus heard the cries of the blind man that day; He stopped and had him brought to Him. Jesus asked the man what he desired him to do; he answered, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Luke 18:41b.

And just like that, Luke 18:42-43 states, “And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.

What a wonderful testimony of God’s omniscience, omnipotence, and a man’s faith in Jesus. Amid naysayers, when he heard Jesus was passing by, he cried out for mercy. Are you willing to press on even in the face of opposition?

His sincere cry shows he already knew who Jesus was and firmly believed Jesus could provide all he needed. By faith, he refused to be silenced—he needed to get a word to Jesus!

My friends, he may have been physically blind, but he had heard about Jesus, the One who has miraculous, wonderworking power! The Word of the Lord reminds us, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.

Have you heard about Jesus, the man from Galilee, who can open the eyes of the blind, give the deaf the ability to speak, and the lame power to walk again? Just like that poor blind beggar, we cannot allow the influences of others to suppress our cries unto the Lord!

“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” James 5:15. Do you believe it today? God hears the cries of His children, and He answers right on time! “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” Isaiah 65:24.

That same Jesus who heard the poor blind beggars’ prayer is the same ever merciful and compassionate Lord who hears our prayers today. ‘The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.” Psalm 6:9.

What is that you need at this very moment…the saints of old would say, call Him up and tell what you need; my friends, I am here to tell you that He is closer than the very air that we breathe. . . He is able to heal, keep, and deliver!

So, I ask you again, has anybody heard about my Jesus, the One who has wonder-working power? Have you tried Him late in the midnight hour? He ‘ll be there, He’s the greatest friend of all!

You can call Him every day,

even when you can’t find your way.

He’ll be there to supply your needs,

He’s the only true friend indeed;

He’s the greatest friend of all, have you heard?
