Hear ye Him

Hear ye Him

“While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” Matthew 17:5

There are many individuals who say that they have never experienced God speaking to them; however, God knows how to reach all of His beloved children. There are occasions in the Bible where God spoke audibly to someone; however, this is an exception to the rule…but because He is God, He is not confined to a single manner of communicating with His people; yet note that scripture clearly tells us that He does speaks through His Word.

The Apostle John goes further and explains “And the Word was made flesh, an dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” John 1:14, This is none other than Jesus Christ-the Bread of Life-the King of kings and Lord of lords-God manifested in the flesh-He is the Word of God!

“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” Hebrews 1:1-2.

Every born-again believer is enlightened by the power of the Holy Ghost; He guides, corrects, instructs, and comforts us. YES, my friends God speaks to our hearts…we must be willing to listen. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 12:26.

Are you yearning to hear a word from the Lord? Then follow the audible instructions of God to Peter, James, and John on the Mount of Transfiguration… “While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” Matthew 17:5. Hear ye Him!

If you call, He will answer. ”Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3. Communication is a two-way street; either we call and come seeking, asking for the petitions that we need, or He calls, providing words that may comfort, instruct, correct, or lead us in His divine will.

The key is to be still and shut out all the cares and concerns of the world, faithfully taking time to listen in prayer, bible study, and meditation. When we come trusting in His promises and power, He will speak to our hearts! “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:” John 10:27.

May the joy and peace of the Lord fill our souls all throughout this day!
