I Need Your Glory!

I Need Your Glory!

“For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.” Exodus 40:38

The Shekinah Glory is the visible manifestation of the presence of God. It is the majestic presence or manifestation of God in which He descends to dwell among men. “Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle,” Exodus 40:34.

In the book of Exodus chapter forty we read the account of the tabernacle in which God gave Moses specific instructions to build in the wilderness after the exodus from Egypt. At the completion of the tabernacle, there was a miraculous occurrence, God placed a cloud over the tabernacle and His shekinah glory shew forth with divine brilliance, so bright that even Moses was unable to enter until it was abated. “And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.” Exodus 40:35.

The direct visible presence of God is too much for our human eyes or minds to encounter without being changed into immortality. Therefore, God lovingly manifests Himself in ways that we can humanly experience His glory. The pillar of cloud and fire over the tabernacle is a perfect example of God’s divine presence and protection with His people. When the cloud moved, they travel on, however when it stopped, they remained where they were.

Praise God that by His amazing grace He sent our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ whose atoning work on the cross has made it possible for every born-again believer to experience the shekinah glory of our Great and Almighty God. “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” Hebrews 1:1-3.

God provides all that we need to have an intimate relationship with Him from now throughout eternity. Jesus walked this earth for over thirty-three years as the human manifestation of God! If our desire is to have a closer walk with God, we must have an intimate relationship with our Savior first. “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” Isaiah 43:10.

Every born-again believer is indwelt with the Holy Spirit. In and through Him we learn of Jesus, we experience His glory; and when we seek to have more of Him and less of ourselves . . . He does miraculous things in our lives that grow us and shew forth His glory to the world! “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7.

I am not sure about you, but I need His glory every day of my life…His divine presence provides the assurance and protection that we need; His amazing grace sustains and succors us through the ups and downs in this life… we are able to live through and testify of His majestic power, brilliance, and goodness to all men.

Let us remain steadfast, aware. and unmovable, giving praise for His glorious manifestation and unfailing love during this present age and forever. “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13b. In your power and glory I am strong when I am weak, Lord.

God blessings, peace, and goodness be with us all!
