In Times of Trials

“Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4

In times like these we certainly need an uplifting word to guide us along our way. The name of Jesus comforts and gives us all that we need. He is the way, the truth, and the life. We can always find comfort, guidance, and peace at the foot of the cross. 2 Corinthians 1:4 states “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.”  Jesus is our safe place and comfort in all of our trials and tribulations.

The Apostle Paul admonishes us to comfort others with the same comfort that we receive. Everyone is going through something, let us take the time to share an encouraging word, send a note, a text or drop a card in the mail. Be a blessing today and make someone else’s day just a little bit easier to walk!

I am sharing an acrostic that I found that can help to keep our minds on the divine providence of our Savior and His loving plans for His beloved children. I pray that it will bless your heart as it does mine…there is power in the name of Jesus!

Jesus brings me here by His will in this straight place; in that will I rejoice.

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:12, 13.

Even here He will keep me “in His love” and give me “grace and glory”

“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” Psalm 84:11.

Surely, He will make the trial “a blessing.” Teaching me lessons He wants me to learn.

“Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.” Deuteronomy 23:5.

Under the trial I will be quiet; for in His good time He will bring me out. Just how and when, only He knows best.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1

“At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord.” Zephaniah 3:20.

So, then I am here by God’s appointment, in His keeping, under His training, for His time, that I may glorify Him, and comfort others. -Unknown.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4-6.

May God’s grace keep us in strength and peace in and through all things for His glory.
