Kept by God!

Kept by God!

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” Psalm 27:4.

The words of an old gospel hymn echoes deep down in my soul…it goes-if it had not been for the Lord, on my side, where would I be! These words bring peace and comfort and praise to God for His lovingkindness, protection, and tender mercies… but even greater assurance is the promise of His word, to give His angels charge over all that concern His beloved children! “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:11.

We live in a fallen world my friends, and in life we face dangers seen and unseen, undesirable circumstances can easily arise from various sources at any given time… things brought on by evil intent, physical illnesses, spiritual, mental, or financial attacks…but, praise be to God, we who have committed ourselves to the Lord, have this blessed assurance and comfort of heart…He dispatches His angels to watch over us in all our ways… “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Psalms 1:14.

Perhaps you are in a tough spot today, and your prayers seemed to go unheard…but God always answers His beloved children! …read the account of Daniel in chapter ten, Daniel had been praying and seeking the Lord, scripture tells us that an angel was dispatched to administer unto Daniel…but was upheld over twenty-one days by the prince of the kingdom of Persia-but the angel receives help from one of the chief princes, named Michael…my friends, God hears, and He delivers!

“Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. Daniel 10:12-14.

So, be encouraged… shed tears are only temporary… our Great and Almighty God is the same yesterday, today and forever, His promises are faithful and true. He has given His angels charge to watch over us, and we are kept safe by His power!

May the words of Psalm 27:1-4 bring comfort to your hearts: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. Psalm 27:1-4

God blessings of peace and protection be with us all!
