Kept Safe by God!

“The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121:8. 

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Psalm 46: 1-2. A refuge denotes a shelter or protection from danger or distress; strength is a quality or state of being strong. God is omnipotent and is present, immediate, and instant. No one is as secure as the one who is kept safe in God’s almighty hands!

Though the road that we travel in life can get mighty rough sometimes…but the comforting words found in. Psalm 34:19 provides a blessed assurance, and even though there will be days that try our very souls…God is our Deliverer! “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”

The following words brought great comfort to my unrested soul one particular occasion as I lay in the hospital; “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8. The Holy Spirit ushered in the sweet peace that I needed the most; allowing my mind and heart to rest in God’s promises to keep me safe that night and every single night of my life.

My friends, there is absolutely nothing that can overshadow the protection, love, and amazing grace of God. Psalm 91:1-2 gives us this assurance of God’s protective care “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

We are currently living through trying times; such things as various cataclysmic occurrences, mass shootings, debilitating illnesses, devastating financial losses… and the list goes on-  buy let us never forget that these are things are all under the direct control of God; even though they certainly evoke fear and anxiety of the unknown, when we resolve to trust in His faithfulness, we can rest in confidence and assurance that every day and every single moment that He is the lover and keeper of our souls!

God holds the future in His very hands; He always has and always will. He has us here at this very moment in time, for His purposes; and we are safe in His everlasting arms. Life will continue for us all until He decides to call time out. “The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” Psalm 121:8.

Hold on to this assurance, God’s got whatever your this is to0; pray as never before; we really do stand tallest when we bow before Him in prayer, He gives us the strength and courage to face any obstacle- because we are kept safe in His everlasting arms!

May God’s protection, peace, and amazing grace keep us all.
