Help us, O Lord!

Help us, O Lord!

“My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2.

There are things that come against us that shake our very core; but recognizing and acknowledging where all of our strength and help comes from is more than half the battle… Psalm 121:2 gives us the peace and assurance of knowing that our help comes from the Lord! “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

Conflict in this life is inevitable, we all experience adversity and unrest at various times; and, yes those of us who have been saved by the grace of Almighty God face even greater spiritual conflict. The enemy of our souls is constantly strategizing to gain power and control of our mind, body, and soul. Ephesians 6:12 states “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Let’s take a look at the witness of King Asa of Judah in the book of second Chronicles chapter fourteen; the bible tells us that he did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord…and as we know when you’re trying to live according to the will of God-the enemy is always setting a trap!1 Peter 5:8. adomonishes us to “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

In this account of King Asa, one name Zerah and a host of Ethopians came against him in battle…but Asa cried unto the Lord and found Him to be a very present help in the time of trouble! “And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in they name we go against this multitude. O LORD  thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.” 2 Chronicles 14:11-12.  God gave the victory!

My friends, regardless to what we may be facing in this life; in times of trouble and unrest, we too can turn to the Lord; and just as in the account of King Asa and the children of Israel, we can rest in the assurance that no matter how big or small the opposition, the divine power and presence of the Lord is able to deliver us! “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

So, I ask you-do you need help today-then, run to the foot of the cross! God will answer and provide all the help that you need …there is absolutely nothing that Satan and his demonic forces can throw our way that can thwart the plans of God. “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?” Romans 8:35.

It is imperative that we stand strong in the Lord, we can weather the storms of this life with confidence in His love and power…we are safe, safe I say, in the arms of the Almighty. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10.  Remember that the battle has already been fought and the victory is won…have faith in God!

Blessings and peace to all … God’s got this too!
