Our Rock of Ages

Our Rock of Ages

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” Hebrews 10:23

The old hymn Rock of Ages gives peace and comfort to those who seek refuge in the divine care of Almighty God. Rock of Ages, cleft for me let me hide myself in thee! The way seems dark sometimes, but Jesus is the light that guides us through this journey called life with grace and peace; if we will only let go and cast all our cares at His feet in faith. “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)” Hebrews 10:23

Refuge is a place of safety, or a sanctuary that gives us shelter from hurt or harm; “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1. When life throws us a curve ball and things just suddenly happen out of nowhere…God is there, He is our succorer and faithfully holds us safe in His everlasting arms. He gives us peace, strength, and grace to endure all things, let us hold to His unchanging hands.

We can stand on the promises of God, I have never known a time that He has failed, have you? God is not a man that He should lie, and He loves us unconditionally. He will comfort the breaking heart, heal the sick, give peace to our souls and fill us with His great joy. We can depend on God. There is no other place of safety that can provide all that we need. He is sovereign and is orchestrating all things in our lives for His glory and our good.

So, let us trust in His goodness and amazing grace, taking one step at a time…releasing every care in His all-powerful hands. Though the mountain seems impossible to climb and the road gets rough sometimes; everything will work-out for those who love God and that is a faithful promise.

In good times and in bad, we can run to the rock of our salvation. . . “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2. He has it all in His hands!

God blessings of peace and grace give you strength and joy for this day.

Rock of Ages, cleft for me,

Let me hide myself in Thee;

Let the water and the blood,

From Thy wounded side which flowed,

Be of sin the double cure,

Save from wrath and make me pure.
