Our Spiritual DNA

Our Spiritual DNA

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7.

In science we learn that we inherit a molecule called DNA from our parents. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a molecule that contains the biological instructions that make each species unique. DNA, along with the instructions it contains, is passed from adult organisms to their offspring during reproduction. -Wikipedia

Our Heavenly Father has so miraculously created the human body to sustain, replicate and supply all that it needs for not only our  physical, but spiritual survival. Every born-again believer has been re-created with eternal “DNA” which comes from the Spirit of the Living God! As born-again believers we are equipped and empowered with spiritual instructions that makes us uniquely His“And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.” Ezekiel 11 19-20. Our steps our divinely ordered by the Lord!

In this physical body there are times when things inhibit the process of growth; and just like biological outside occurrences that cause diseases and other illness in the body, there are also negative influences from the world and that old arch-enemy of our souls the devil that can cause us to become spiritually weak so that we stumble and even fall along our way. But know this… there is hope in God! “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10.

When we fall short or circumstances beyond our control come our way, let us pray for God’s strength to hold on to His unchanging hands…focusing on the fact  that we are His precious jewels- beloved children of God! “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not” 1 John 3:1.

We can fully rely on our inherited spiritual DNA- our internal blueprints from the Holy Ghost that guides, strengthens, teaches and comforts us every step of the way!-thank you Jesus…my strength comes from the Lord! Galatians 5:22-23 states: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.

My friends, rest assured, we have strength from above for the journey ahead. Yes, there will be times when things get mighty rough, but just remember we have the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord. So, let us walk and grow as those who have received such a precious gift from above– “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7.

God blessings and peace to all!
