Created to Worship

“Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Psalm 66:4

Absolutely nothing does the heart better than hearing the uplifting songs of praise and worship unto God; I can  hear in my mind the beautiful voices that sing songs such as Praise is What I Do, when I want to be close to You; or songs such as Here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, Here I am to say that you’re my God. “True, biblical worship, as defined by the scholar A. W. Pink (1886 – 1952) in his exposition of the gospel of John, says this: “It is a redeemed heart, occupied with God, expressing itself in adoration and thanksgiving.” Likewise, A. W. Tozer said, “True worship is to be so personally and hopelessly in love with God, that the idea of a transfer of affection never even remotely exists.”

Personally, and hopelessly in love with God…this gives thoughts of only a heart that is sold out to, and longs for an up-close and intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior; the Psalmist penned these inspiring words of yearning for God-“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.” Psalm 42:1. and “With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever,” Psalm 86:12

Worship is an act of total surrender of our hearts and will to God; it is only given to God for being holy, righteous, sovereign and our Creator. It is all about God and none of us. We can praise and worship God anywhere or anytime, in a crowd or all alone . . . He is worthy of our praise and worship now and forever! “Wherefore thou art great, O Lord God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.” 2 Samuel 7:22.

When we give God the glory and honor for who He is, our Creator and lover of our souls- our adoration evokes expressions of and love comes in many different forms … we lift up holy hands, shout, sing, cry, be still, and show in our own way, thanksgiving that magnify the Lord for His goodness and mercy.

My friends, we were created to worship Him and Him alone. “Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Psalm 66:4.

God’s peace be with you all!
