Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord!

“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.” Psalms 63:3-4.

“Because of who you are, I give you glory, because who you are I give you praise;” these are starting lyrics from the beautiful inspirational song, “Just Because of Who You Are,” written by Vicki Yoke. Let us direct our thoughts on spending time giving our Almighty God continual praise; giving Him thanks and worship just for who He is …regardless to what is going on in this world, praise be to God. . . we can shout-Great is our God, and He is greatly to be praised!

The bible teaches us in Psalm 33:1 to: “Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.” Comely is a derivative from the Greek word euschémón-it means befitting, attractive, decorous, and even honorable. When we start praising, thanking, and acknowledging that our God is sovereign, we are then seen pleasing in His sight. One song writer wrote, praise is what I do when I want to get next to you!

Everything will fall into peaceful perspective, when centered on our Creator God. He is in total control and if we believe in our hearts and way down deep in our sanctified souls that He has divine providence; then we have the confidence in knowing that He is ordering our steps.

So, let us be still amid our present circumstances, praising Him for who He is; among many names that we can attribute to our awesome God, He’s our Jehovah Nissi-The LORD our Banner; the one who fights for us and renders us victorious in all things. There is nobody greater than the LORD, let us join in triumphant voices of praise to the one and only wise God, our Savior now and forever. Psalm 150:1-6 states:

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”

No matter what, never forget, that God is Lord of all; He has this world in His hands…and certainly He holds you and I secure in His everlasting arms. PRAISE ye the LORD!

God’s blessing of peace, amazing grace and unfailing love be with us all.
