Stop Worrying!

Stop Worrying!

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6:34

How many times have you contemplated the outcome of a medical test, financial endeavor, or difficult encounter? I know that there are many other things that we worry about in life; However, how did that workout for you? The fact is worrying about the issues that we will face tomorrow will not change the outcome one iota! Matthew 6:34 state “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

Why would God tell us not to worry? Point blank and quite emphatically, He loves us, desires to give us His sweet peace, and the bottomline-  our lives are totally under His control! Psalm 24:1 state “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” We belong to God, and all things are orchestrated by the divine counsel of His will. So, He already knows what will happen in every circumstance we will encounter…the question for us is will we trust in His sovereignty and amazing grace to do what is best for us?

It is a matter of trust; God says put me first and I will take care of everything else. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”  Our priority should be in pleasing God; when we release our cares and concerns to Him, He will work it all out for our good and His glory.

Worry steals our peace of mind when we allow it to invade our mental space, it becomes a spiritual issue; let us humbly fall to our knees before our loving and gracious God and lay every weight at the foot of the cross. He knows how to give us His sweet peace . . .  it meets us just where we are and ushers in comfort, calmness, and His great joy! “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7

There are somethings that we have control over, we can focus on doing something about those; everything else are only borrowed problems from tomorrow and strategic landmines of the enemy; we can choose to faithfully trust our future in the sovereignty of God and His unconditional love for us all… so stop worrying, because He will faithfully provide exactly what is best in every single circumstance! “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

God’s steadfast love and peace be with you all.
