The Gift

The Gift

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11.

The night of our dear Savior’s birth the shepherds were watching over there flock, and as you can just imagine the state of their minds… when on such a serene and clear night…an angelic being appeared with the bright glory of God shining all around them; fear, wonder, speechlessness-but the angel immediately brought encouragement to relieve their fears…why, because it was a joyous occasion, good news had come to the world-Jesus Christ was born! “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11.

Let us flash-forward over two thousand years later, December 25, 2022…the good news is still being proclaimed, our Soter (Savior) deliverer, succorer, lover and keeper of our souls’ is alive and saves to the utmost; His divine purpose in being our Savior denotes the continual relationship He has as Lord of all His redeemed children…do not miss the great message of the gospel, which is all about salvation…the reconciliation of sinful man back to our loving and gracious God.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. The good news is that God loved the world so much, that He prepared Himself a body, manifested in the personage of His darling Son Jesus, to be born of a virgin, crucified by an angry mob, and praise God, with all power the grave could not hold Him, He got up so that we could go up! Hallelujah!

I am not sure about you today, but regardless to what’s wrapped in those packages under the tree, or you might not have anything or even a tree; but I am here to tell you that the greatest gift of all, was wrapped in swaddling clothes, found lying in a low estate… the Alpha and Omega was among the animals in a manger, my God…and the story doesn’t end there, because He hung on that cross one Friday afternoon, about the nineth hour…and He hung His head and said it is finished! Hallelujah- the price had been paid, with great drops of blood and we can live with God eternally!

Merry Christmas to all-the gift has already been given-have you accepted Him as your Lord and Savior-if not, He is knocking on the door of your heart… let Him in! “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20.

Blessings, peace, and good will to all!
