The Greatest Gift of All

The Greatest Gift of All

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

It is Christmas morning. All throughout the world Christians celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

Hundred of years before the birth of Christ the prophet Isaiah foretold of a child being born unto all men, not just any child, but the promised Messiah . . . the Savior of the world. His name is a name above all names! There is no one like Him… as Isaiah wrote, He is Wonderful and our everlasting Father!

My friends, God gave to us the greatest gift of all, eternal life; “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. Regardless to how many gifts we may have under the tree this morning; God’s gift is the only one came wrapped in swaddling clothes and shed His blood for the remission of our sins on a tree at the ninth hour that Friday afternoon.

Jesus walked the path of Via Dolorosa and as the old hymn goes… surely, He died on Calvary; and the best part of all is that early on the third day morning, He got up with all power in His hands, and because He lives . . . we have the right to eternal life. “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24. That is love!

So, today while we enjoy the fellowship of family and friends, whether virtually or in person… let God be the center of our praise and thanks for His unconditional love. Tell somebody that the greatest gift of all is everlasting and will never leave you nor forsake you!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” Luke 2:14.

Merry Christmas and God blessings to all.
