The Light Dispels Darkness

The Light Dispels Darkness

“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” John 1:5.

The concept of being hidden or covered from sight denotes darkness or the absence of light. Fear, anxiety, sin, and any other distractions that are thrown in our path by the enemy, can cast us into what appears to be utter darkness. But the light…the true light dispels all darkness. “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5.

“If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.” Psalm 139:11. Regardless to how terrible things may seem; the darkest shadows in the night cannot hide us from God. This should shed light, peace, and hope in the heart of every born-again believer, we do not walk this journey of life alone, we can never be removed from the comfort, support, and presence of God, He  “If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.” Psalm 139:11.

In times of fear, sorrow, indecision or even despair, we can cling to our constant companion, the Holy Ghost who reminds us of all things. Let us stand on the promises and power of Gods’ word “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105. It brings us strength and courage to face all things; dispelling, driving away, or causing to vanish all the fiery darts of the enemy. “The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5.

God’s grace is sufficient for us all and we can and will endure all of our what if’s, whatever’s and the present circumstances too; never forget that it is not in our own strength and power that we overcome ”Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” Zechariah 4:6.

Beloved, we are children of the light, we are under the guidance and protection of Almighty God forever. So let us take courage in His promises to keep us in and through all things. Psalm 121: 5-7 states “The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.” Praise be to  God!

God blessings of peace, comfort and protection be with us all.
